I'm Seta Injeyan, a visual artist, a painter, living in Los Angeles, California. My process of doing art is an inner journey where time and space are no longer relevant. The aim is the knowledge that, once attained, becomes my new transport. The unconscious is doing the driving, and takes me places I've not seen before. It confronts me with images beyond comprehension that challenge my sense of reality.
During this time my pace, rhythm, and mood are changed. The changes are recorded in my Innerscapes and Entries. Along the road I'm faced with people, individuals, who appear at the painted Entries. They ask me to go beyond the veil of appearances, to feel their spirit and experience their soul. I'm obliged to convey their Alchemcial Portraits to canvas. These are "alchemical" because my impressions and intuition enter into this process of portraiture.
I have always enjoyed the works of Rembrandt, Magritte, Monet, Gorky, Moore, Van Gogh, Munch, Klimpt, Chagall and Matisse. The dynamic interplay between Realism & Surrealism, Expressionism & Impressionism, Abstract & Photo-Realism is the energy source in my work.
